History of Prawn

Life history
Freshwater prawns, like all crustaceans occur regularly to increase the hard outer skeleton or shell that must be shed . Shell shedding process "molting" is called and the weight and size of the increase does not occur soon after each molt . The temporary increase of molts distinct increments , rather than continuously , the problem occurs .

Breeding
Women usually within 6 months of becoming reproductively mature . Soft- shelled hard- shelled males and females breeding only , ie , only those who have completed a premating or prenuptial molt may occur in females . The fourth pair of walking legs , the female body is at the bottom of the male deposits sperm into a gelatinous mass . Eggs are laid out within a few hours after mating and the female is fertilized by sperm outside the body is connected to the gelatinous mass . Women , then , " brood chamber " , in the abdomen ( tail ) region of the underside of the fertilized eggs to aerate and abdominal swimming appendages of the transfer is to keep clean . The eggs hatch in the stomach is connected . The number of eggs produced at each spawn is directly proportional to the size of the female . As long as the water temperature exceeds 70 ° F , multiple spawns per female can be annual . Carrying eggs woman "berried females . " The bright orange color of newly spawned eggs gradually , then orange , brown, change , and 2 to 3 days before hatching in the gray . A temperature of 82 ° F , Spawning Eggs hatch after 21 of 20 . Just grow and grow freshwater prawns enter into a larval phase .

Larvae
After hatching , larvae are released and swim upside down and tail first . Approximately 48 hours after the larvae to survive in freshwater and from 10 to 14 parts per thousand (PPT) with a salinity brackish water can not migrate . Larvae aggressive sight feeders and primarily small zooplankton, worms , and larval stages of other aquatic invertebrates to feed almost continuously . Larvae 11 molts, each representing different stages of transformation to endure . After the last molt larvae transform into postlarvae . Newly grow from larvae to postlarvae Transformation of food quantity and quality , temperature , and other variables of different types , depending on the water quality , 15 to 40 days .
